VHE appointed Transhaven Construction Services Ltd to deliver all civil engineering works for a new cascade installation in Pontefract. The project involved constructing an extensive stepped overflow system built into a steep embankment.

The works required casting each reinforced concrete section progressively up the slope, followed by the installation of a 100-metre-long reinforced concrete T-section at the top of the site. The whole civil engineering package was delivered within a 16-week programme.

Following completion of the concrete structures, Transhaven also provided the base for the surrounding brickwork, allowing the cascade system to be completed to final specification.
